Resumen: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on Smart Graphics, SG 2006, held in Vancouver, Canada in July 2006 - co-located with the 28th Annual meeting of the Cognitive Science Society and the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence. The 19 revised full papers and 8 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the book. Special focus is given to human individual, group, and distributed cognition as well as artificial intelligence applied to the design and testing of graphically rich systems: smart design, smart systems, and systems for smart users. The papers are organized in topical sections on intelligent text processing, perceptive systems, smart visualization, visual features, sketching and graphical abstraction, intelligent image and film composing, as well as smart interaction.
