Resumen: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Multimedia Modeling Conference, MMM 2010, held in Chongqing, China, in January 2010. The 43 revised regular papers, 15 special session papers, 22 short papers, 9 demo session papers, presented together with three invited talks, and were carefully reviewed and selected from 133 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on 3D modeling; advanced video coding and adaption; face, gesture and applications; image processing; image retrieval; media analysis and modeling; semantic video concepts; tracking and motion analysis. The papers of the special sessions addressed topics such as video analysis and event recognition, cross-X multimedia mining in large scale, as well as mobile computing and applications.
